Plan a Recovery Path for a Delayed Creator Deliverable

Agree how to handle late drafts, changed claims or missed posting windows before a creator campaign begins.

When a creator misses a deadline, ask whether the remaining time still allows accurate review, rights clearance, and a useful publication window—not simply how to catch up.

Create a recovery decision

For each deliverable, set draft due date, review owner, response window, final approval, publication time zone, and dependencies such as product delivery or legal review. Ask for early notice of risk and a realistic new delivery date.

At the first delay, pause paid promotion that depends on the asset. Check whether the campaign moment still matters and whether review time remains. Choose one route: move the date, substitute a pre-approved format, reassign the slot, or cancel under written terms. Do not publish an unreviewed replacement to save the calendar.

Keep scope changes traceable

A factual correction may fit the original approval. A new claim, location, music track, person, or usage channel may require fresh review and rights. Record the old and new commitment, reason, approver, fee, and rights impact.

Example: if a sample arrives late, do not ask for a demonstration the creator has not performed. Change to an honest first-impression format only if the brief and disclosure allow it; otherwise move or cancel.

Compare planned and actual delivery dates over time. One delay does not prove general unreliability. Review contract terms before changing scope.

Optional AI-assisted work brief — Delayed delivery recovery plan

Set a factual timeline, contract milestone, dependency, responsible contact, and business deadline. Offer a documented recovery choice: revised date, approved substitute, partial acceptance, or contract remedy according to agreed terms. Preserve campaign context and rights status. Do not publish unfinished content or reuse assets outside the license to compensate for delay.

Worked example — Use a recoverable milestone

If filming is delayed, confirm whether the delay affects an event, product availability, or campaign window. Offer a revised delivery date, a mutually approved replacement, or a contractual remedy. Keep paid media paused until rights and disclosure are valid. A recovery plan should preserve the creator relationship and the agreed scope without using unlicensed content.
